Master runecrafter grade in sight

Haha. Suckers! I won! This is the first time us Noirs have been wanting to write at the same time, but I won. I got hold of the book first and ran! Besides, I'm the one with least writings so I should get the honour. Not to mention I'm the only mage in this family. With maging comes runecrafting - no matter how great Andro thinks she is!

A new mage at the Wizard's Tower has been trying to find proof that the energies to make runes doesn't only come from the altars we've been using. He believes the energy comes from all around us. There's been slight debate over this between the other mages, the ones that host the Great Orb Project, and this new mage. I think his name was Finix. Cute guy. Black ruffled hair. Blue robes. Tall.

Anyway... the mages collective have opened up a new realm to the public they call Runespan. It's a very interesting place. It's located in what feels like nothingness. Rocky platforms connected by magical platforms that requires runes to be used. There are floating essence rocks, essling creatures and various ... nodes I think they are called. They look different. Some are floating grassy rocks. Others are fire storms or fireballs. There are cyclons and vines. The most bizarre one is the fleshy growth. It's a ball of flesh tied to the ground by a fleshy string. All of these generate runes when you siphon them. And the speed of learning?! My dear Zamorak! I have gained 11 or 12 grades since the mages opened up Runespan on 11th Raktuber. That's ALOT! The traditional way is so much slower. And you have to run back and forth between a bank and an altar. Here you don't do that. But you also don't get to keep the runes which is a BUMMER! I'm a poor mage. I can't afford buying runes to practise my craft. And making runes take more time than using them. I don't find enough of them after killing a monster to keep me going.

I wonder when I'll become a master runecrafter. Much sooner than previously expected, that's for sure!
Going back there now. I'll see if I can improve my skill.

My first: First day as a no tax payer

Hey Journal.

I've stopped paying my taxes. Yes, you heard right. No more taxes. Why? I don't know why! That's what's so confusing. I don't now why. I think it has to do with the sporadic voices, or at least one voice, I keep hearing in my head every once in a while. I think I've mentioned it before. I've gotten so used to it I don't think about it. I've been hearing numbers and amount of things I need to do to reach a goal. It never makes sense so I have been somewhat successfully ignoring it for a while. But lately I've been hearing other things. Words. Hypocracy. Lies. Something called AreWeTee, or similar. Gambling. Very, very angry voices. I somehow connect this to not paying the taxes anymore.
You think I'm crazy, right? You're just a book, what do you know?! No, I'll remain as is until this voice tells me different. Even though I can't understand it at times I just know it's been helping me for so long. Could be Guthix. I've been sacrificing bones on and off lately. Maybe he's pleased. Maybe he's placed his blessings upon me.

On a different topic. Wournos is correct. He and Cassis are not crazy. I have found the same kind of tickets they have found. I have found over 10 of them. Some I have claimed (goes poof after you touch the word, just like Wournos said). Others I have discarded. The parchment crumbles to dust if you do that. But recently I've noticed claiming these tickets do not work. I never thought magic could be broken but it seems it is.
Like my siblings, I too haven't seen anything come from these tickets. To be honest, I don't care. I have better things to do than waste time on meaningless actions.

So what to do now? I'll be restricted to a very small area now. Most of my belongings have been sealed off and I won't be able to work on some of the skills. Evilness!
I did hear rumours of a new plane related to runecrafting. I'll be checking that out. Runecrafting has never been my favourite thing to do, but I have done it because I needed nature runes.
Then there's always dungeoneering... I hate dungeoneering! But at least it's something to do.

I just remembered... I forgot to put my Proselyte armour back in my armour closet in my house. Darn it! Now it has to remain in my bank. I hope it won't take damage.

Spin around

Yesterday I changed my view on life slightly. For too long I've been blinded by the need to become a master of smithing and mining. I got to a point where I didn't feel enjoyment for my crafts. I kept "planning ahead", always looking at the future, not once stopping to look at the now. This planning ahead included "This is for my next tax payment period". Thing is... I don't know when I'll pay my taxes next. That makes putting some things on hold completely pointless. Idiotic even!

So... my first step to free myself of the chains of "future plans" was to undress my upper class citizens clothes. They kept reminding me of my days as an upper class citizen. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. I neatly put my feathered hat on a shelf in my bank. I worked hard for it and one day I might wear it again. I hung my yellow cape on a hook. I have replaced it with the Varrock Herald cape. I tried different customizations, different colours. First I had a green cape with white crest background and trim. Then I tried a yellow version. It was too bright so I tried more colours until I found a somewhat cosy brown version with white trim and crest background. Very neat style. It goes well with my hair colour, skin colour and my beige/yellowish clothes.

I also changed scenery. I used to fight over mining rocks in the Dwarven mines. I went back to my "secret place" to both mine and work on my ranging skills. I did that for a while before I decided I needed an even greater change of scenery. I needed to break this obsession with mining. What better way to relax while fishing?
I grabbed my flyfishing rod, a bundle of feathers and headed to River Lum. It's rather peaceful there. Sure, the guard won't give up fighting the goblins but I can live with that. They are pest anyway. Stupid pest. Illiterate pest, unlike the cave goblins.
Fishing did me good, though I couldn't stop planning for the future still. I wish I could just erase all thoughts of mastership and just take each day as they come.

One strange thing has happened though. I was mining a while back and underneath some rubble I found a ticket. I think it said "Spin Ticket" on the front. A bright yellow ticket. It didn't say what it was for. The only other words on it was "claim" and "discard" in the bottom corners. I have never seen anything like it. I brushed my fingers over the claim label and *Poof*! The ticket vanished into thin air and I swear I hear a faint voice squealing "Weeee. Free spins for the win". Something like that. I have not had this happened since so I have no idea what this was. I have been wondering if it was similar to those random people that keep abducting me to do stupid tasks for them, only to be rewarded in the end, but I didn't get anything from this ticket. I heard Cassis had a similar experience in the essence mine. Since it happened to the both of us, neither of us have lost our marbles. Andro hasn't said anything about it though. I'll see if I can find more and figure out what they are for, because this is just so bizarre!

My first: People Kill

Hiya Journal.

So today I tried something new. Something I've been staying away from since I first took my staggering, confused steps in Lumbridge. I am first and foremost a skiller. But it doesn't stop me from killing monsters and other enemies. That's all fine and well because most creatures are predictable. Once you've killed a few you know what their deal is and you have the upper hand.
There is, however, something else that can be killed, that are not so predictable at all. Other people! So far I've been the sporadict victim of other people killers. They are called PKers for short. Pretty much the only place where this can happen is the Wilderness. That's the reason I've never liked the Wilderness.

But today, when I chased penguins, I ran past a large group of mindless drones. Loads of them at the green dragons up north. As I had nothing to do after chasing penguins I decided to try kill one, just to feel what it felt like. I made a pair of rune leggings, put on a blue dragon body, my Neitiznot helm (haven't worn that in ages!), whip, antifire shield and a pair of white boots. I put a glory amulet around my neck, grabbed a tortoise pouch and headed up there.

The first kill was so easy. The drone had so many hides and bones that my tortoise couldn't carry any more. I even had to stuff some into my own bag. Talk about heavy!
I ran back to Edgeville to bank my loot and decided it was fun and headed back. Unfortunately I was spotted by a manic mage. He tried to kill me even though I urged him to go for the drones too. Bloody fool wouldn't stop so when I got the upper hand I teleported away with the free tablets the drone had left behind upon death. I didn't give up. I headed out there again, but at a different location. As I was checking my map some nerd tried to attack me. Another teleport just in case. I then decided to find a parallell realm with less PKers. The realm I was in is a hub for PKers due to the penguin hunters.
I chose my home realm and located two drones at the green dragons. Kitching! Two kills. I gathered their things and left to bank in Varrock. I did a last trip and killed the same two drones. After that I felt I shouldn't push my luck too much. Besides, I had five starting kills for my Wildstalker hood. Or so I thought... It appears I had lost it a while back. I got a new one from the scared guy outside the bank. But I couldn't add my kills because the hood wasn't in my possession at the time of the kills. Bugger! Guess I'll have to do it again some time.

War zone

Hey Journal.

You should see Burthorpe and Taverley now! It has changed a lot ever since the trolls started attacking. At first the attacks were concentrated near the castle. The guards built a wall to fend off the trolls and I have been helping out with repairs and boosting morale. There's a lot of volunteers and since we all can't work at once, the commander only allows help once a month.

The defence fell slightly so now there are sporadic attacks from loner trolls in south Burthorpe. To keep up, the area has gone through a major change with new buildings with artisans giving out advice and tools related to their skills.
There are wounded people to the north. Food is scarce but they manage. I've seen hunter birds settled in the area so that's a source of food. The small cove where it used to be land has fish so that's good.

One thing I find a little... off is the witch who used to live near the gates of the wall that separates Taverley from the rest of the Asgarnian kingdom. It's as if she sensed the attack and magically moved her house because her entire property is now located near the south-west corner of the Falador city wall. I think her talent could be used elsewhere...

There's one thing above all that I like. There's a crafter with tanning skills in the south part of Burthorpe. His workshop is rather close to a bank chest. A real bank has opened up at the south corner of Taverley, very close to the entrance to Taverley Dungeon. That means faster trips without having to teleport. Sadly I'm not the only one who have noticed this.

Cassis has something to share too. She went to Thessalia's shop in Varrock the other day and saw that she has created a newer model of wizard robes. Both black and blue. They are more detailed than the previous models and she pretty much loves the black set.

The smiths have come up with new models for lower types of armour. They actually look quite nice now. There's a delay with mithril and better. Should be interesting to see what they will look like.

Last but certainly not least...
I have bought a title. I have lots of titles given to me by people I have helped in the past, or earnt for various actions. But now I'm Wunderkind Andro. Pretty cool. Nothing like a little bloated ego. Hehe

Yule celebration and other stuff

Merry Yule, Book.
The holiday of food is here. Got to love it! There is an ongoing feast at the Wizard Tower in the Land of Snow. Lots of pastry, salads, beverage and what looked like grilled chompy. That or oversized chicken! Oh how I miss chompies. I never have to catch them again. I got my trophy - my Expert Dragon Archer feathered hat. But I still miss bloating toads and leaving them in the open while I hid in a bush to lure out the shy chompies.
But back to the feast. It was for mages only. Andro will write about it later, I'm sure. But I managed to tuck down a piece of chicken/chompy in my trousers to have for later.

Another thing I have done, as you can see in the drawing, is that I have changed my clothing. I have disrobed my cosmic set. I... I take it in steps because once removed I'm not allowed to wear it until I pay my taxes. That's why I still have my feathered hat and cape on. I'm not entirely ready to put them in my bank just yet. But I will.
So now I'm a Noir. Cassis and Andro started wearing their Deathcon tees. I honestly don't have anything better to wear at the moment so I put mine on too. The shoes and mittens are my yule set. I have a copy of the santa set but that's ... so not me!

I've been mining again. It's going well not that I found a deposit box in a secluded area of the dwarven mines. It's in one of those resource dungeons. This one has couple of mith rocks and coal rocks. There are three adamant rocks just outside. I did a minor calculation yesterday and found out I can buy nature runes for part of the profit of high-alching mithril plate bodies. I need six runes for every plate (superheat five mith ore and alching) and the price is currently just right. I wanted to save my ore for Artisan's Workshop, but I just know I will mine gold and smelt that once I have paid my taxes again. I'm not keen on smithing steel at the workshop. I will need steel the day I decide to get one of those dwarven cannons. When I pay taxes that is.

I think I'll drag Cassis out for an adventure soon. I heard something about a shield in Varrock.

Masters degree in bank cleaning

Hullo, Journal.
Feels like it was just a few days since I scribbled down my last thoughts. Well, I have reasons. I've been working my bum off lately. First it was smithing and working on the mastership. After that I decided to Yule-clean my bank. Maple logs had to go so I started fletching. In between sessions I collected more crafting material, as well as my daily flax. I don't need it but figured I could always sell it.
Yesterday my fletching paid off. I got my Masters Degree and the cape. I won't lie. I don't like it. But it's nice to have it over and done with. It's one of those necessary evils. I plan on becoming a Master Skiller so that I can get the Max cape. It's the second finest cape a citizen can wear. It represents the mastership of all skills.

...and speaking of necessary evils...
Today I geared up and went to Jadinko Lair for some firemaking. Now, I have never really tried firemaking down in the dungeon but damn it was good. I didn't have to set fire to each vine. There was a fire ready to use. All I had to do was chop the curly vines and toss them on the fire. It went so well that I finished the entire last grade in just a few hours. I think it was hours. I had nothing to measure time with. Come to think of it, I never do. Hmm.
I now have a somewhat nice firemaking cape. It's lovely orange. I will wear it for a while, just like I did with the fletching cape, and ever other cape I have.

Now the huge question is... What do I do now?
I think I know the answer already. I kind of decided that before I even started fletching. Slaying. Not for a masters degree but for improving my fighting skills and also change the scenery a bit. I have been pretty stationary at Grande Exchange or Edgeville bank lately. Besides, I could always use herb seeds. I mostly find them among the remains of monsters.

With that said, I need a BREAK! My hands are sore from all the carving and chopping!

10th anniversary - Master Degrees

Hiya Journal.
I am celebrating an anniversary today. Well, yesterday to be precise. Yesterday marked the 10th Master Degree achievement. I know you probably go "huh?!" right now. Yes, you're right. Last time I spoke of getting a Masters Degree in anything was when I became a master woodcutter. After that I seem to have failed reporting the Mining Master Degree and the Hunter Master Degree. Yesterday I got my Smithing Master Degree. It is my tenth cape, and I am very happy. I've been wearing it today as I always do with new capes.

I don't know which I should go for now. Times have changed. The mindless drones, as I believe Wournos called them, have been erradicated from the lands. Either they was consumed by their illness or they have been put in quarantine somewhere to avoid affecting more citizens. It's great news though the downside is lack of material sold on the market. Prices has shot to the roof. I have been waiting a long time to find a seller of orbs and today got a match. Someone sold water orbs for under 1500. I accept that. I could go up to 2000 per orb but that's it. No more.
Sooo... I decided to almost go all-in on water orbs. I bought another 2000 orbs after the first thousand. Then I placed a new order of 10,000 water orbs. I have already collected 8,000 of them. I will spend all-but-1 coin on water orbs if I have to. I have a rank to maintain. Besides, once I start making nature runes I can alch my battlestaves, ergo getting my money back.

But again... what to do now? I've been wanting to clear my bank of junk. The main skill-related item I can think of that I will never collect again is bowstrings. That means I will do fletching. I don't believe I have bowstrings for all the logs I have but at least they're a start. Aaaand... to get rid of maple logs I will do both fletching and firemaking.
I was thinking of starting slaying again. But I think I'll do the above first.

Finishing off with a drawing of all my lovely capes. They are:
Crafting, Magic, Defence, Constitution, Thieving, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, Hunter and Smithing.

Guthix smiled upon me

You won't believe this. Take my word for it. For ages now, the drizzle at Tears of Guthix has been a major pain in the backside. I see the blue drizzle. I go over there with my bowl to get the tears. I get one and the drizzle stops. I go to another drizzle and it stops just when I get there. I go somewhere else to get 3-4 only to be forced to move again. That's been my case for a very, veeeery long time.
I went there in hopes that I wouldn't get more than 100 tears. I consider that extremely bad. The most I've ever had has been around 150-160 tears. To my surprise the drizzle keep going for ages. I think I changed position 4-5 times only compared to the normal 15-20 times.

What in Gielinor did I do to deserve this?! I thank ye, Guthix. I'm ever so grateful for the dungeoneering knowledge you've given me today.

Your humble servant,

Master RC clothes

I so want those Master runecrafter clothes. Have you seen them? I hear they improve runecrafting when worn. I want to get better at runecrafting but it's so difficult. And the best I can do is fire runes. I went there today but the wizards didn't let me in. Said something about grade 50 runecrafting and blocked my path. One of these days... when I'm a better mage... I'll show those Saradomin wizard rats at Wizard's Tower who they're dealing with.
I need to find a good target for magic practise. I've been to Lumbridge Catacombs. It's a very popular place and would help me with prayer. No one there pick up the bones left behind. But that has to wait. I need more runes and to get that I need to RC, and to do that I need more essence.
Dammit! I wish I was rich so I could buy essence. Mining is for geeks!
